Meetings

The Group meet on the first Thursday of most months at The Richmond, 234 Scarisbrick New Road, Southport PR8 5HL, between 7 and 9pm. At each meeting free tea and coffee is provided and a small raffle is organised to raise funds to help with the running costs. The purpose of the meetings is to provide peer support - to give men who have been diagnosed with prostate cancer, and their families, the opportunity to meet other people in a similar situation, or who have been through the same situation, and to share their experiences of the various support and treatment options available. In addition, invited guests attend to present and share information about various subjects. There have been an average of 40+ members, that is men affected by prostate cancer and their partners/family members, attending each meeting.

Benefits

Support groups operate in local communities and can be a fantastic source of information and informal support for men and their families. Meeting and hearing from others affected by the disease can not only enable you to share your feelings but also understand the way you feel, and improve your wellbeing.
